Retatrutide (LY3437943) is an experimental weight-loss medication developed by Eli Lilly. This triple-hormone receptor agonist targets GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors, aiming to reduce appetite, enhance fat burning, and improve metabolic health. In Phase 2 clinical trials, participants receiving the highest dose (12 mg) lost an average of 24.2% of their body weight over 48 weeks, with 100% achieving at least a 5% reduction. Additionally, improvements were observed in blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and liver fat content. Retatrutide is administered via a once-weekly injection and has shown a favorable side effect profile compared to other weight-loss medications.
